Job Description:

The primary focus of this position is to support the sales group in the development and execution of targeted account development strategies for the full breadth of Fortna’s service offerings. The Account Manager is expected to be able to develop strong internal and external relationships, solid build supply chain and industry domain experience, and possess the ability to execute a complex and demanding sales process. This position is seen as a stepping stone for the development of the core skills required of the Account Executive.



  • Representing themselves, Fortna and the capabilities of the company positively in the marketplace.
  • Supporting the sales group with business development activities by reaching out to new prospective clients.
  • Supporting the sales group in the development and execution of industry vertical plans and related account development opportunities.
  • Should be able to identify and define the client problem/challenges.
  • Supporting sales group in the development of briefing papers on agreed industry verticals and current/prospective Clients, including the review and interpretation of annual reports, analyst coverage, S&P/Hoovers data, etc.
  • Supporting sales group in the development of responses to request for proposal (RFPs), request for quotation (RFQs), and request for information (RFIs) as required.
  • Supporting sales group in the development of sales presentations that are customized and specific to Client needs and specific opportunities.
  • Developing an understanding of broad supply chain related issues/opportunities and relating to Fortna’s products/services to those areas.
  • Developing an understanding of vertical specific issues/opportunities and relating Fortna’s products/services to those areas.
  • Developing an understanding of Fortna’s go to market strategy and associated sales approach.

  • Communicating clearly and participating in team based selling approaches in Client opportunities.
  • Supporting business case thinking internally and externally and assisting in the development of the Client opportunity business case during the sales process.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with internal and external Clients, prospects and influencers.
  • Proficient at gathering market intelligence.
  • Prompt and efficient at timely and accurate reporting.
  • Supporting sales and marketing efforts at industry events through attendance at trade shows and speaking opportunities, as appropriate.

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or equivalent analytically based discipline

  • 2+ years of post-graduate experience in consulting, sales, operations and/or role with Client facing responsibilities

  • Ability to learn about different services related to the job

  • Strong relationship building skills

  • Strong general business acumen with a strategic perspective

  • Passionate and enthusiastic mindset with regards to all job responsibilities, including putting the Client’s needs first, providing meaningful solutions, and working with the Company to be sustainable, achieve goals and maintain business principles

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Organized and focused with good project management skills

  • Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Ability to multi-task and work cross-functionally

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
